Arbor people are amazing! It starts with you, of course – our residents and neighbors. And, our staff is experienced, compassionate, and professional. Our nurses, activity directors, housekeepers, professional chefs, therapists, office managers, maintenance folks – all are here to serve you. But our most cherished employees are our caregivers – you can count on these fine people to take care of your every need.

Our Executive Directors are trained assisted living professionals. But we go beyond what is mandated by the State – our management and nursing personnel are exposed to rigorous training and continuing education.

Your transition to The Arbor promises to be a smooth one. Our staff has worked with numerous families to assist during this important transition. We work closely with every new resident to ensure their move goes as smoothly as possible, from settling into their new home, to meeting new friends at meal time, and everything in between.

Our Amazing Staff

Mary Jo

Executive Director
Mary Jo has been working in senior care for over 26 years, spending 23 of those years as part of the team at The Arbor. She appreciates every aspect of her job – to the point where it does not feel like a job at all. Participating in special events and activities with the residents are some of her favorite times spent at the Arbor. Residents know her door is always open to assist them in any way. When Mary Jo is not at the Arbor you can find her spending time with her family. She has been married for 40 years to the best husband. Randy is often seen at the Arbor volunteering. Together they had 3 children who have blessed them with 6 wonderful grandchildren whom they love to go on adventures with, especially to the lake or the beach. They also love spending time with their church family and help in any way they can when called upon. Arbor is very proud to have her on staff.

Kathy

Community Relations Director
Kathy, a native of Houston Texas, found her way to Nacogdoches when she and her husband decided to move here to be close to her parents. Her mom and dad had moved into The Arbor where they lived for several years. Kathy fell in love with the staff and people that live here so after retiring from her job of 37 years she decided to work at The Arbor part time. That part time position soon became full time and she loves being a part of The Arbor team. Kathy enjoys meeting new people so being the Community Relations Director gives her the opportunity to do just that. Having experienced The Arbor from both sides gives her a unique perspective when touring and showing the property to potential new residents. She feels blessed to also be able to care for and interact with the residents the way others cared for her parents when they were here. Outside of work Kathy loves cruising with her husband Tommy and hanging out with her dogs. She sings in her church choir and also with The Heart of the Pines Chorus who often perform at the Arbor and other venues around Nacogdoches. Kathy describes The Arbor as her dream job and can’t imagine being anywhere else.
